Concept demo — Marlowe & Ash is a fictional furniture brand, created by GuardLabs to show how we approach branding and hand-coded web design. Not a real company.
Autumn collection — European oak

Furniture that doesn't ask to be noticed.

Solid wood, joined by hand, built to outlast the room it's standing in. No veneer, no particleboard, nothing that needs replacing in five years.

"We'd rather make forty pieces a year we can stand behind than four hundred we can't."

Every piece starts as rough-sawn oak, air-dried for a year before it's ever cut. One species of wood per season, so nothing in the workshop is waiting on a shipment from somewhere else.

Joints are cut by hand before they're glued — dovetails, mortise and tenon, nothing that a machine finished on its own. The oil finish can be renewed at home, indefinitely, with a cloth and an afternoon.

MARLOWE & ASH
Primary mark. Wide tracking, medium weight — reads as furniture, not fashion.
Marlowe & Ash
Secondary, for captions and the journal — quieter, closer to handwriting on a workshop label.
M&A
Mark for small spaces — favicon, packaging tag, invoice header.
Grid & spacing

12 columns on desktop, 32px gutter, 32px page margin minimum. Collapses to a 4-column grid under 980px and a single column under 520px.

Whitespace is treated as a material, not leftover space — sections run 80–90px of padding top and bottom, roughly double what a typical retail template uses.

No banners, no countdown badges, no "sale" ribbons anywhere in the system.
