Chekin · Promo Video Set

The promo videos we made for Chekin, the app that checks guests in with nobody at the doorScan. Verify.

Chekin lets a guest check in online before they arrive, confirm their own ID, and open the door with a virtual key. Nobody has to wait at a front desk. MARODON made the set of videos that shows property managers how it works, cut for the feeds where they spend their day.

Sound on. Nobody is at the front desk.

01 The Brief

The best thing about Chekin is that nothing happens. A guest lets themselves in, and the manager never leaves the office. That is a hard thing to put in a video.

Chekin runs online check-in for short stay rentals and hotels. A guest fills the form before arrival, the app files the guest data with the authorities, and a virtual key opens the door on the day. The company came to MARODON with a product used across more than two hundred thousand properties and almost no video made for the people who buy it. We made a small set of promo videos that shows the whole flow in a few seconds, built for a manager scrolling a work feed, not a tourist watching an ad.

One product, working across apartments, hotels, villas and campsites
02 The Challenge

You can't film
an empty desk

Chekin had the product and a long list of property systems it plugs into, but no video made for the places their buyers spend the workday. No library to build on, no format to copy, just a feature that sells precisely because no one is standing there.

So the job was to make an absence read as the whole point. An empty desk with nobody waiting on it, shown in a shape that plays on mute while a busy thumb keeps moving.

03 The Idea

So we filmed the check-in the way a guest lives it: they arrive, the desk is empty, and the door opens anyway.

Motion graphics carried the parts a camera cannot show on its own, the online form, the ID match, the moment access is granted, while the real app and the door lock did the rest. Every scene was framed twice from the start, once tall for the feed and once wide for everything else, so nothing had to be shot again to go wide.

04 The Craft

We built the set the way the product works: a calm arrival, one clear action, then the door opens. Four times over, in two shapes.

05 The Result

A quiet product,
worth watching

First Set
Chekin's first batch of promo videos made for a work feed, a set they can post on a schedule instead of one at a time.
Reusable Format
Screen capture, motion graphics and a four cut layout that any future Chekin release can pick up, including new countries.
Ready to Post
Every cut delivered tall and wide from the same shoot, so it drops into any placement with no re-edit.
Performance numbers sit with the client and are available on request. This set gave Chekin its first video language for the check-in flow.

Got a product
that sells by doing nothing?

That is what these videos are for. We find the one clear moment inside an operations product and build the set around it, tall and wide, ready to post.
